Ben Oakley
"Ben Oakley is a conceptual artist whose work doesn’t stick to one medium or subject matter, why listen to other peoples preconceptions about how to pigeon hole yourself, the whole purpose of art and creativity is to express oneself."
Oakleys’ last solo exhibition was a very successful show entitled ‘Multiples of Nothing’ (The Monotone Series) Large framed one off stencilled images spraypainted onto fujichrome photgraphic paper. Each piece resonates of Bens’ time spent in the film Industry that repeat a single image reminiscent of individual film cells.
Currently he is working on‘Multiples of Something’ a series of colourful pieces which evoke the famililarity & intrique of his work. Using Spray Paint, Stencils, Acrylic and Emulsion. Over the last four years he has gained momentum, producing some his most visually engaging and thought provoking works to date. Ben Oakleys’ works are original, fresh, often witty and cleverly executed.
Oakley has exhibited in England, Europe and America and sold along side Banksy, Peter Blake, Blek le Rat and many others. In 2008 he exhibited in eight shows aswell as taking part in the Canns Festival and Hostel Art selling over 80 originals including paintings, light installations, sculptures and prints.
