Catherine Macleod
Catherine has been making clay sculpture since leaving in Camberwell College of Art in 1998.
Her sculpture has been mainly figurative, but has also included symbolic objects, like cages, doors, apple cores and pear cores.
The figurative pieces are always female and have exaggerated proportions, very large feet and elongated legs blend up into smaller torsos.
The work is made out of crank clay, stoneware fired and glazes are often muted earthy colours. The figurative pieces are usually around 2-3ft in height, but larger pieces have been made right up life size. |
