Kerry Hammond Kerry graduated at Wimbledon with B.A Hons 2008, since then he has exhibited at the 'Fresh Meat' show October 2008, 'Situation Modern' show November 2008. He has also studied with iconographers Peter Murphy, Prof Stephen Rene and studied Mische tecknik with Brigete Marlin (Airbrush Diploma with art imagination in 2007. Before 2000 Kerry was a member of various rock bands, most notably PWEI, Prodigy and briefly Babylon Zoo. He was a session guitar player of some repute and played on the double platinum album music for the Jilted Generation , he also co-wrote one of the songs on that album. He started painting seriously in 2001 after an accident left him unable to continue with my music career. Kerry is currently making new work for shows in 2009. Artist statement My work acknowledges the canon and history of art before warping it to form something unique that challenges the accepted. With a spiritual nod to Dadaism, the Situationist and the Fluxus movements I take a set of recurring characters and themes that form an original but universally understood language. |
