Paul-Emmett Costelloe

I studied at the University of Brighton Art School, and then did a Masters at the Gray's School of art in Aberdeen.

My work is primarily about place and form. The basis of my work is down to looking at an image and creating what I see of the Image which causes something to happen or arise. I think in different ways when I draw and paint, it is my own personal way of thinking about something. In my work I try to depict something that is in a physically recognizable form; I try and make a shape or a thing that is identifiable to the viewers that look at it.

My work very much relates to using symbols and abstract structures rather than the natural language. My practice is strongly linked with representation as it is about creating a visual depiction of an Image.
